Inside Life 2: Apostasy, launching February 4
The Dreadnaught has returned. Once more a threat to humanity is the famous Hive fleet and Throne World to Oryx himself. When Destiny 2: Apostasy, the game’s next season and last epilogue of the Light and Darkness Epic, releases on February 4, Guardians will start their adventures under the darkness of this foreboding return. The Destiny group hosted a video today that featured an in-depth look at what Heresy players may expect, as well as exclusive interviews with designers and live game from the Episode. We’re covering some of the Heresy features from tomorrow’s show. For even more, check out the video review around.
The Dreadnaught not actually left the lore of Destiny, orbiting Saturn despite its enormous jewels and serving both as a depressing warning of Guardians ‘ previous encounter with Oryx in The Taken King rise and as a staging area for the Xivu Arath forces. With Heresy, the Hive fleet will once again returning to the forefront.
” What’s important about the Dreadnaught’s returning for Heresy is that it’s going to be changing, and we’re going to be fighting through it in way we’ve yet to knowledge”, said Destiny 2Narrative Architect Nikko Stevens. The Vanguard and Guardians across the system have been taken see that” The Dreadnaught has rekindled for the first time in about a generation.” Without a Navigator, we eventually getting to see what has happened to the Dreadnaught times after Oryx was destroyed and its halls were left to deteriorate.
Guardians enter the Battleship itself in a brand-new battle known as The Nether during Heresy. With an action-packed mix of exploration, combat, as well as game modifications and escalating problems ( not to mention some excellent benefits ), The Nether promises to keep people on their feet each time they table.
Stevens noted that” there is a constant wave of Taken troops and corruptive strength in Heresy.” The influx of fraud is similar to an sardonic current that represses Guardian makes ‘ attempts to board the Dreadnaught. The Nether enters at this point.
The Lower activity will see Guardians besieging the sprawling ship to stop the Taken corruption from spreading and combine with area patrols, several bubbles full of formidable enemies that culminate in noble boss fights. It will also feature a mutated Dreadnaught. Guardians can anticipate a continually varied knowledge thanks to lessons learned from previous rogue-lite investigations in Destiny 2 like Deep Jumps from Season of the Deep and The Loop from Season of the Wish. For example, after completing a bubble, the Power level of enemies increase. Additionally, the game’s boons that directly affect gameplay add a new twist to the combat formula.
Three types of boons will be available for players to collect: minor, major, and corrupted. Minor boons increase stats and will stack up when collected. Major bonuses can be obtained by completing a bubble, and even though they won’t stack, they can be used to increase your Static Charge stacks by sprinting, which will eventually enable you to use a powerful thunderbolt when you hit the finish line. Additionally, corrupted weapons provide a significant gameplay boost as well as a drawback. For instance, one corrupted boon causes more damage to targets while also causing more damage to those who are taken from sources.
” We’ve also experimented with player modifiers, with increased health pools, no regenerating of health, low ammo drops and revive tokens, and a modification on healing in the sandbox over the course of play”, said Destiny 2 Senior Designer Ryan Harris, adding that build crafting is a key to success in the Nether activity. Players should consider making their loadouts designed for survivability because the game mode modifiers significantly increase the players ‘ health pools while also halting all health regen.
Today’s livestream also revealed the newly announced partnership between Bungie and Lucasfilm Games to bring Star Wars-inspired gear and accessories to Destiny 2. Along with the new twists and updates, there are also new gear and updates. Three new armor ornaments ( one per Guardian class ), each inspired by the soldiers of the Galactic Empire, and a number of Star Wars-inspired accessories are available with the release of Heresy.
With three Acts coming this Episode, Heresy still has plenty of fun left in the coming months, with new activities, amazing gear to collect, and much more. Be on the lookout for more as this is just the start of a fantastic 2025 for Destiny 2.
