According to researcher Jeff Pu, Apple is about to begin prototyping its first two folding devices, with mass production expected to begin in 2026.

Pu claims that production will start in the second quarter of 2026, which is in line with current rumors, at least in regards to the iPhone Fold. Numerous rumors have surfaced since January 2025 that Apple has chosen its folding show manufacturer.
According to Jeff Pu’s new word, as seen by MacRumors, there are two portable devices in particular. He claims that they are moving into the New Product Introduction ( NPI ) phase of Apple and that 2H26 will mark the start of mass production.
