Acer Predator 21 X – 1st Curved monitor gaming laptop worth $9,000 – Hungry Geeks

This CES 2017, displays are the show stoppers of the show but one laptop stood out among the rest because of its curved screen. The Acer Predator 21 X is the world’s first curved monitor screen on a laptop, along with a powerful 7th generation Intel Core i7 and multi-GPU setup for the ultimate performance.

The Acer Predator 21 X is a monster, it has a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7820HK which is an overclockable processor (Though not desktop class). A dual NVDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics setup,

Memory is up to 64GB of DDR4-2400, up to four 512GB SSD in RAID 0 configuration (including 2 NVMe PCIe SSDs, which are up to 5x faster than SATA SSDs) and a 7200 RPM hard drive of 1TB capacity.

Ports include 4 x USB 3.0 USB, Kensington slot, USB Type-C with Thunderbolt, SD Card Reader, 3.5mm audio jack for mic and audio, HDMI, 2 x Display Port, Ethernet and 2x DC in adapter slot. Yes, this laptop uses TWO 330W adapters to accommodate the dual GTX 1080 graphics power requirement.

This laptop is equipped with a Cherry MX Brown switch mechanical keyboard for the best gaming experience. The numpad (not mechanical) can be switched over to be transformed into a touchpad (Very clever in our honest opinion). Memory and Storage bay is very accessible at the bottom bay, this is a neat feature for enthusiasts.

This laptop has 5 fans for thermal management and 9 heatsink pipes to manage all the power of the laptop. It may sound ridiculous now, but it’s necessary for optimum performance.

The notebook ships with a blue dragon graphic on the panel, or it can be customized with a combination of graphics, nation flags and name engravings. In addition, the first 300 notebooks will include a limited edition series number on the panel.

For safe transport and storage, each Predator 21 X ships with a custom ultra-durable hard-shell carrying case which securely stores the notebook and accessories.

Display is also improved for game play with buttery smooth visuals via the notebook’s 17.3-inch G-SYNC Full HD IPS (1920 x 1080) or UHD IPS (4K 3840 x 2160) display.
