Acer shows off Predator Orion 9000 gaming PC and Predator X35 monitor in IFA 2017 | Hungry Geeks | Latest news

Acer has been going bananas in the overkill department with their Predator 21 X. Touted as one of the most expensive gaming laptops ever, the 21 X costs around PhP 500,000 here in the Philippines and someone was rich enough to buy three of these gaming laptops. In IFA 2017, however, the brand is stepping up their game in the pre-built PC and monitor market with the Predator Orion 9000 and Predator X35.

Predator Orion 9000

The Predator Orion features an 18-core, 36-thread Intel Core i8 Extreme Edition complemented by up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM. As for pixel pushing prowess, the Orion 9000 can be decked with up to two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti’s or four of AMD’s Radeon RX Vega cards. Since this is a gaming PC, the chassis is decked out with RGB lighting with a mesh on the side panel to prevent cross-talk from other devices such as smartphones. The Orion 9000 will arrive in stores this December with the base model costing at USD 1,999.

Predator X35

Acer was one of the trendsetters in the curved, ultra-wide, 1440p gaming monitors with the X34. They are now improving on their previous formula with the Predator X35. It is a 35.0-inch, 1800R, 21:9 monitor with a native resolution of 3440 x 1440. What separates the X35 from its predecessor is its 200ZHz refresh rate complemented by NVIDIA’s G-SYNC to eliminate stutter and deliver fast and smooth gaming experience.  With a 4ms and 178° viewing angle, the X35 would probably use an IPS panel for its display. Together with its Acer HDR Ultra and Quantum Dot technology, the X35 should deliver a fast and smooth gaming experience with good color range.
