Titanfall DLCs are now free in Origin! Titanfall is currently celebrating their first anniversary and to show fans their appreciation, they made all DLCs of Titanfall free of charge.
Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, developers of Titanfall, said,
“….we’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support from our community. You’ve given back to us by creating costumes, videos, tournaments and art inspired by the game that continue to amaze the team here at Respawn. In turn, we’ve worked hard to create new modes and features as well as maps to show our commitment to you and keep giving you more reasons to enjoy Titanfall.
In celebration of our one year anniversary, all Titanfall map packs are now available for free on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. You just have to head to the online store on Origin or Xbox and download the Season Pass.”
In order to take advantage of this heck of a promo, you obviously have to have the main game in your Origin account.
I did wonder if the move was meant to show gratitude, but I can’t help but think that the move is their way of curbing the near to null population of the game. I once logged into Titanfall last Christmas and was appalled by the number in the popular game mode, Attrition. Players at that time numbered only to a hundred, far greater than those of the less popular modes. The pricing of Titanfall can also be considered a sign to its ailing gamer count as it is constantly offered way below its base $60 price. Each Titanfall DLC were also subjected to the price drops.
Anyhow, free is free. You can get your Season Pass of Titanfall by just logging into your Origin, head over to the store, and click the season pass. The package contains three map packs, all of which amount to more or less 7GB of data.
So, what now? Will you play Titanfall with its free DLCs? Or will you just skip it instead? Do tell us in the comments section below.
