Android O has been floating on the Internet for some time now. The first Android OS that was named after a trademarked product was Android Kitkat (Android 4.4) back in 2013. Google is now partnering with Oreo to bring us the latest iteration of Google’s Android OS, the Android Oreo.
Android Oreo brings a lot of improvements over the previous iteration of Android. These include features such as limiting background apps and processes to improve battery life and categories for notifications. Google has also improved security with their Google Play Protect that scans your Android smartphone to keep any bugs and prying eyes from your phone. Improvements also include a built-in picture-in-picture mode for better multi-tasking with your Android smartphone.
If you want to check out Android Oreo for yourself as well as see all the changes it brings to the table, Google is giving beta access to their latest Android OS. In order to join, however, you would need a Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL, or a Pixel C tablet to get beta access. These devices would also be most likely to be the first in line to receive Google’s updated OS.
