Tonight, Apple will again kick off their World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) with another keynote that’s going to highlight the latest and greatest updates with their inventions.
Typically, the event is going to be all about the software updates just like the previous years, but there are some rumors about some hardware news too. Or maybe some teasers about it? We’ll know soon enough. But for now, here are the things that you should expect Apple will release and the things that they are possibly going to announce.
Every year, Apple’s WWDC is the venue for the iteration of their mobile iOS. iOS 11 is rumored to receive a complete redesign but we think it won’t be too drastic. We expect to have updates on Messages, new features on both the camera and photos app, and maybe some support for the Apple Pen.
We also expect the much-awaited hidden “dark mode” which would be perfect for the OLED screen of the next iPhone. Plus a group facetime call because the community has been begging for it for the longest time now.
As for the iPad, we expect the iOS version of it will have more usability features and maybe a completely different design compared to the ones seen in the iPhone.
Same with the iOS 11 but we also expect that it will only have an incremental update just like the previous ones. There maybe some game-changing feature or a visual refresh but we doubt it will happen on this event. Seems like it will have more hands-off feature to accompany the iOS and some native apps overhaul.
tvOS 11 and watchOS 4
Seems like there are no ground-breaking rumors for these two. We only expect some usability and performance enhancements for the two operating systems.
During an interview with Bloomberg, Jimmy Lovine said that Apple Music will have a refresh that’s going to focus more on video content. And with Apple Music being a part of the iOS, it’s mostly going to be released there too.
With Google and Amazon reigning when it comes to home speakers. Apple must take up the challenge and release their own version. And with Siri going to be updated along with the iOS 10, maybe this is the best place to announce the new speaker too?
10.5-inch iPad Pro
Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo said that we may possibly see an update to the iPad Pro but we’re not so sure if this is going to be the right event to announce it. Apple has been working on a 10.5-inch iPad Pro that’s going to resemble the 9.7 version.
Recently Apple did an interview with some of the journalist and online news sites about the Mac Pro. They stated that the next Mac Pro will have a modular design for easy upgrades and promises to release it soon. Maybe this is the right event for it? We’ll see.
Same as the MacPro, the MacBook Air hasn’t been updated for quite some time now because the current MacBook has taken over the Air beating its size and portability. Maybe we’ll also get to see the next MacBook Air? Slightly thinner than the MacBook, more RAM, USB-C and Kaby Lake processor with an upgraded display. That would be nice.
Be sure to comeback here after WWDC as we’re going to round it all up.
