ASUS drops 100k price of their ROG GX700 laptop, the biggest ever in history – Hungry Geeks

Ever wondered how laptop companies drop their prices? Well to give you a quick insight, they usually drop prices when new generation products are now available or incoming. In this case, last year flagship laptop the GX700 (First water cooled laptop) is now getting a 2nd generation soon which is the GX800.

As part of their valentines promotion (until Feb 28, 2017), ASUS generously dropped the price for the laptop down to Phg149,995 from the original Php249,995. That is a whopping 40% price drop for the laptop, definitely something worth checking today and that’s the biggest we have seen so far.

The GX700 is still a warrior despite a little bit late specs of 6th generation Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, NVIDIA GTX980 8GB DDR5, 32GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIE Gen3 M.2 SSD. For Php149,995, you’ll still get a lot for the package such as the unit with water cooling, ROG case, ROG mouse and limited edition ROG jacket.

Aside from that, ASUS also dropped around Php5,000 to Php10,000 to several units of ROG carrying the 900 series graphics. Again, these units aren’t obsolete but still capable of today’s game at respectable settings.

So if you are on a budget, you might want to consider these laptops. But if you do have a budget, we suggest getting 1000 series graphics laptops that are around 15-25% faster than the previous generation.
