Asus launches thinnest 2-in-1 Device, T300 Chi – Hungry Geeks

Asus  releases the T300 Chi. Thinner than the New Mac Book Air, it sports thickness of 1.65cm only on a laptop mode; and considered to be the slimmest 2-in-1 device in the world. It is  made of an all-aluminum unibody design; which gives it a real premium feel when it is being handled at the same time giving you an Ultrabook-like performance.

Two variants will be coming to the Philippines, one would be equipped with Intel Core M 5Y10 processor / 4GB RAM and the other with the 5Y71 processor / 8GB RAM. They will be priced at 39,995Php and 46,995Php respectively. (The Intel Core M processor also powers the new Mac Book Air). As we’ve said, this is a hybrid device that is a laptop with a detachable 12.5 inch screen that turns into a tablet with Windows 8.1 running on both devices. The screen/tablet will be equipped with IPS Full HD Display and 1920×1080 resolution.

Because this is a 2-in-1 devise, the tablet/screen will be attached to the keyboard via a magnet. Apart from this, removing the tablet/screen from the dock, the keyboard is still usable as it is connected to the tablet via bluetooth; which opens up alot of new ways to use your 2-in-1 device.  Gone are the days where Asus’ uses a mechanical clamp to hold both the tablet with the keyboard.

Moving forward, the tablet’s battery life spans at the maximum of 32 hours and with the dock, it could give additional 2 hours. Storage on the other hand, will be taken care of an SSD with 128GB of space.
