Asus ROG G752 Review | Hungry Geeks | Latest news

Let’s face it, everything in Asus’ Republic of Gamers lineup is a beast in performance and their new G752 is nothing special. This gaming laptop is the successor of their flagship ROG G751 and it features a brand new design, an innovative cooling system and the latest sixth-generation Intel Skylake processors packed with it. Let’s start with the specifications:

Design

After unboxing the laptop itself, the first that comes to mind is that the ROG G752 has a different aluminum design that’s much cooler than its older brother. The top of the G752 has one solid plate of brushed aluminum with the emblem of the ROG lighting up brightly.

They also went with a little theme changes moving away from their signature red and black color scheme to a silver and orange paint job in the body. I really liked the old color scheme, but hey, this one is more striking and it really stands out from other gaming laptops. Plus, given its ultra large body and thickness, you wouldn’t miss it.

The most noticing part of the machine is located on its rear end, a giant flared vent that obviously spells out that it is a gaming laptop. It’s painted with the orange color and has red LEDs for a gaming light show. How’s that for standing out?

Specifications

What’s the most special in this laptop is that it is packed with Intel’s speedy SkyLake processors. Of course, you can still overclock them to your heart’s content and you’ll get up to 3.5 to 3.6GHz. The graphics card pairs up nicely with the processor – an Nvidia GTX 980M – one of the best graphic cards available in the market. With a RAM of 16GB, it’s the perfect laptop for gaming and even video production and editing.

Of course, the cooling system found at the back isn’t just for show, the ROG G752 features a nifty vapor chamber cooling system. As opposed to the old and traditional heat pipes, the system is packed with a larger chamber that acts as poop for cooling liquid in the heat pipes. This kind of technology is more innovative and efficient in cooling the whole laptop than the traditional ones found in other gaming laptops.

In terms of real-life usage, I played with latest games such as Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Sniper Elite, Fallout 4 and Witcher 3. Pretty much all of them ran on Ultra Settings smoothly with 50-60fps with no problem at all. After hours of gameplay, the ROG G752 played quietly with no issues of overheating thanks to its new cooling systems.

On the downside, don’t expect to make this laptop your portable device as the battery is somewhat under average with only 4 hours of battery life. And with the heaviness and thickness of the laptop, you’ll be sure to leave it when you’re out.

The Verdict

Asus is very popular in the gaming market as they deliver pretty much everything with the highest performance possible and the ROG G752 takes the cake. With the model’s new and attractive design, it’s a must have for those who want the perfect gaming experience gaming in a laptop.

The Asus ROG G752 will be available in the Philippines with a price tag of Php 149,995.00.
