The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and 17 are getting generational upgrades this year with the implementation of AMD’s Zen 3 Cezanne mobile CPUs and NVIDIA Ampere RTX 30 series GPUs. Not only will they include better performance this year, but ASUS is also throwing in improved design on both notebooks.
Both the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 G533 and Scar 17 G733 can be decked out with a Cezanne-based AMD Ryzen 9 CU paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080. Both come with Liquid Metal and new fans to improve cooling. In addition to these new components, both notebooks can also be equipped with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD in RAID 0.
To respond to the lightning-fast reflexes needed in competitive gaming, the Scar series are getting new displays with 7% smaller bezel footprint. You can choose to run a 2560 x 1440 165Hz display or a 1920 x 1080 300/360Hz screen depending on the kind of games you choose to play. You will also receive a new optical mechanical keyboard that promises minimal input delay and maximum consistency and comfort while mashing away in games.
Design and RGB is still ever-important in gaming laptops, which is why the Scar 15 and 17 are getting improved RGB light bars as well as interchangeable thermal cover caps at the back in order for you to better express yourself while playing.
The Keystone II is making a comeback as well that will allow you to make quick commands and unlock a shadow drive by just placing the keystone on the Scar. AI Noise Cancelling will also be implemented in order to reduce background noise to better coordinate with teammates in the heat of battle.
