What is this Laser-guided focus thingy?
First, this kind of tech is first introduced by LG G3. Most camera phones today use a technology called “contrast detection” to automatically focus on the subject you choose. To put it simple, the camera determines and focuses on the subject based on the level of darkness and contrast. It’s pretty much trial and error until you get the right subject so its not that accurate, but it works.
On the other hand, the Laser is much more efficient. They emit a tiny laser which bounces off the subject and goes back to the camera, measuring the exact distance so you’ll get the perfect focus. In summary, you’ll get faster and more accurate focus on the subject.
