The ASUS ZenFone 5 might only be a mid-range smartphone, but it has the chops to take on the competition. DxOMark is usually littered with high-end flagship smartphones, but the ASUS ZenFone 5 makes its mark with the big boys by getting an overall score of 90 in DxOMark’s test with its cameras garnering a score of 93.
DxOMark hails the ASUS ZenFone 5’s cameras as having good dynamic range in bright light; fast, accurate, and repeatable autofocus, nicely rendered detail and textures in bright light, and accurate white balance in most situations. The smartphone’s cameras have its faults, however, as having fusion artifacts in HDR scenes, image corruption on rare occasions, noticeable noise, loss of detail and chroma noise in flash images, and having depth artifacts, color casts, and exposure inaccuracies in bokeh mode.
It’s a pretty impressive score given that the ASUS ZenFone 5 is only priced at PhP 19,995. If you want more proof that ASUS’ latest smartphone is worth your cash, then check out our review of the ASUS ZenFone 5.
