After weeks of teasing and leaks, the ASUS ZenFone 6 has finally launched. As the latest in the ZenFone series, the ZenFone 6 comes with all the bells and whistles you have come to expect from a flagship smartphone with a bit of added flair.
The ASUS ZenFone 6 comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The biggest hook of the smartphone, however, is its dual flip cameras.
Instead of having a pop-up camera or a slider design, the device comes with a 48MP f/1.7 + 13MP ultra-wide dual camera setup that flips to the front of the smartphone when the selfie mode is activated.
The brand is saying that the camera’s platform is made from liquid metal and is powered by a custom stepped motor in order to be fast and reliable.
The dual flip cameras comes with a suite of capabilities including HDR+, Super Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Slow Motion, Time Lapse, and Macro Mode alongside standard modes such as Pro and Video. Speaking of video mode, the smartphone can also record 4K video at 60fps with EIS.
Since there’s no “traditional” selfie camera to speak of, the brand was able to maximize the screen real-estate of the device. Its screen is a 6.4-inch 2340 x 1080 display with NanoEdge bezels.
The ASUS ZenFone 6 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0. The brand has also added Smart Key, which is essentially a customizable button for the Google Assistant.
