Shadow Labyrinth, an activity platformer in the vein of Pac-Man, debuts on July 18 for the PS5 only.
The upcoming 2D activity platformer from our staff at Bandai Namco Studios, Shadow Labyrinth, will have people who control Swordsman No. 8 are summoned to a strange world by the strange Puck to finish a mission that others have failed to do. In their struggle to survive, the two did learn secrets and war powerful leaders. The brand’s intention to create a unique experience for both existing and new Pac-Man players may be excited about the idea of a black Pac-Man activity. On July 18, Shadow Labyrinth emerges from the shadows.
Puck may have caught on a few hints of Pac-Man, and there is an incredible image of a great foreboding and black Pac-Man chomping down on the body of a defeated foe. Our team worked hard to create Shadow Labyrinth from the ground up while taking into account what it means to be a Pac-Man activity, but it’s more than just skin deep.
When compared to the fundamental components of a Pac activity, the classic jungle is second only to Pac-Man himself. We wanted to use that principle to our game, which requires that the characters be just as significant as the location where they are located. The interactive jungle of Arcade Pac-Man is captivating, and we wanted to make that experience more vivid on a larger scale. When zoomed out, the chart of this strange planet is itself a large maze, and like the classic Pac-Man, you must become familiar with it in order to defeat your foes. Shadow Labyrinth takes this one step further by placing our narrative on a dark and mysterious world where life means tougher difficulties in deeper levels. The classic arcade game’s jungle was set upon a history of shadows. Either you succeed or you are utterly unable to succeed.
We assumed that controlling Pac-Man was straightforward when we approached the Pac-Man square system. It’s merely a controller. However, as you progress through each stage, the on-screen action of avoiding Ghost intensifies. We wanted the person inputs to feel normal, hardly overwhelming, like that straightforward joystick, though Shadow Labyrinth offers people a variety of actions and weaponry. We wanted to let the person pick their own exploration second, giving them the most freedom feasible. The action in Shadow Labyrinth is very powerful, just like the classic arcade Pac-Man, and we thought an friendly control scheme and the ability to explore the paths they’re interested in would help develop player immersion, similar to the original arcade game.
In Shadow Labyrinth, there are actually three different ways of playing. No. 1 in the Controlling Swordsman. Mini Puck setting is all about exploring concealed and out-of-access pathways, while 8 is all about weapon use and skillful dodge. These in and of themselves seem pretty Pac-Man, but the third function of play is essentially GAIA, the mechanical giant with devastating force, from Shadow Labyrinth. Players can use GAIA to damage enemies that might otherwise have been too powerful, break through barriers ( in reference to the arcade game Super Pac-Man ), and actually eat enemies with it. However, this power is not unlimited, just like a Power Pellet, and it needs to be effectively used to “turn the furniture” on your foes, as Pac-Man followers may put it.
To level off and advance, Pac-Man is constantly eating Dots, Power Pellets, and Ghost. We wanted to grow on Shadow Labyrinth’s fundamental idea of eating both as a means of powering up and as a means of defeating enemy. You can choose to have enemies in the game rather than slash them until they are defeated.
If you do select to consume them, you will gain diverse tools depending on which army you had eaten. These sources can then be used to improve and enhance your skills. In Shadow Labyrinth, you must also consume food in order to advance, both physically and psychologically.
The Ghost, however, are they gone? We kept them in mind. G-Hosts, parasite organisms that have taken over demons and machines of the planet, are one of the many horrible creatures you may eliminate in Shadow Labyrinth to create something brand-new and frightful. These encounters are powerful manager battles that are appropriate for the arcades original’s principal antagonists. Never-before-seen G-Hosts like Pinky and Pac-Man Ghosts as twisted director battles.
Shadow Labyrinth was created using the DNA of Pac-Man while keeping its creativity from the tradition of other activities in the style. However, eagle-eyed gamers have already begun to notice hints that Shadow Labyrinth is set in the larger chronology of the United Galaxy Space Force ( UGSF ) timeline, which is a shared universe that connects many of Bandai Namco’s space-themed games. Players who discover the vast image of Shadow Labyrinth’s world will come across some well-known-looking enemies like those from the Bosconian and Dig Dug line.
