Boracay + Laborday = Epic – Hungry Geeks

Perhaps “Epic” is the only word to describe #LaBoracay2015. With tons of activities from brands all over the island, Boracay indeed didn’t sleep for more than three days. As early as April 28 there were several activities already from brands such as parties, music fests, foam parties and even adventures.

Aside from the usual island hopping, cliff diving at Ariel’s point, para-sailing and even riding ATVs or zorbs, Boracay’s laborday weekend made it special with desire of people celebrating their long weekend with a well deserved party. So here are some of the activities that happened to us last #LaBorday Boracay

Product Shots!

Its just awesome to shoot some review units under the bright sun and behind the beautiful sands of Boracay. Its something we just can’t take off from us tech bloggers, but you have to agree that you will definitely like our shots more.

Events!

A notebook brand made an event in Boracay, unfortunately people just skips their display. Probably people doesn’t have interest in a laptop in Boracay, didn’t interest me much as well since there were no freebies or even small items to serve. One thing we learned in the island, never offer complicated mechanics such as having a selfie with a laptop….(weird isn’t?)

We definitely partied hard with events from Globe promoting #LetsTakeOverSummer, for 3 straight days we celebrated with them all over Boracay with concerts and overflowing drinks! This was the night of May 1st where the night was still early but the beach was really jam packed already.

The next nights were even more intense with Tattoo Globe’s Sander Van Doorn and Knife Party giving up non-stop party beats. We especially got hooked with Sander Van Doorn’s “Koko” I suggest you listen to this sick beat on Spotify which made me LSS even until now.

Wait for the sunrise

Its definitely worth the wait for the sunrise in LaBoracay, even 6:30AM there are still people in party mode while some are already asleep in the beach and probably wasted.

There were a lot of commotions happening, especially drunk people getting wild at the beach waters, people sleeping at the sand and barkadas even lifting their friends just to go back to their hotels.

Budget good eats

In Boracay even the famous “Budget Mart” isn’t even cheap, to be honest they have the most expensive items in all groceries in Boracay. So take note of that next time you go to Boracay, there are several groceries not even far from DMall that can save you 20-50 pesos per drink especially if you purchase bottles.

For restaurants, you have the budget local restaurants that offers good serving of silogs like Tapsilog, Longsilog etc for only Php65. But a distinct local food restaurant is known for their cheap and delicious food which is Big Mama (Station 2 near Starbucks).

Awesome dishes for Php100 each is available like sinigang, chicken inasal, pork barbeque or even liempo are delicious. The waiting might be long, but we assure you that the experience is definitely worth it.

Getting a haircut

A summer look isn’t complete without a haircut and a shave line. Believe it or not its only Php50 in Boracay! In a certain salon called JB Salon (station 2 Main Road) my friend Ryan liked my haircut so much he decided to get one too. I recommend to get kuya Eric where he gives a very precise and awesome haircut + massage. Its so good we ended up giving a tip bigger than the cost of the haircut, heck its even better than barbers in Manila!

Almost empty beach

Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Mayweather gave photographers a moment to take the beach for themselves. As expected, only a handful of people are left in the beach as they were preparing to watch the fight.

The beach was so empty, that you’ll see the growing problem of algae is the star in the photos. Hopefully they can solve this alarming problem soon.

United as one!

Enough with the Telcom war, the whole island was one when the fight started for Manny Pacquiao. Its was a glorious moment where people are chanting for Manny in every punch! It was also awesome to see people in the beach line and even boats stopping just to watch the fight. Unfortunately Manny lost, where silence was felt everywhere in the island. Almost everyone was ready to jump into the beach to celebrate…

Relaxing moments

Visiting Puka beach was definitely worth the travel as you can virtually see Boracay in the 1980’s. No electricity and man made bleachers for a quiet and relaxing side of Boracay. Its a tricycle ride for Php150 going from DMall and another Php150 going back. Bleachers can be rented for 75 pesos per bed.

Having starbucks in the beach might be weird, but the Starbucks Boracay branch is worth their hospitality and awesome skills. They know  my favorite drink which is 4 shots americano over White Mocha and just ice! (AKA Barista Drink)

Last meal at Two Seasons

Two Seasons is very famous for their Four Cheese Pizza, Bulalo and Oyster Sisig, we definitely recommend to end your Boracay trip with these mouth watering dishes.

Fortunately all of our big purchases were hassle free thanks to our Globe Gcash MasterCard, it gives us the convenience to simply pay via card instead of bringing a cash around Boracay.

Lastly, you are meant to gain new friends and relax at the island of Boracay. So thank you to my new friends and let’s meet again in Manila!

That’s it! We didn’t get wasted this #LaBoracay 2015 but we definitely had fun especially with the parties! See you #LaBoracay2016 and share us what do you think with our experience!

Shout out to ASUS Philippines for the Zenfone 2 and Globe for the Galaxy S6 Edge which was used in the awesome photos here.
