Launched worldwide last month, the Canon EOS RP has now landed in the Philippines. As a follow up for the first full-frame mirrorless camera from Canon, the EOS RP is essentially a more affordable version of the EOS R.

The Canon EOS RP is powered by a 26.2MP Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor with a DIGIC 8 processor. This allows the camera to have a native ISO range of 100 to 40,000 (extended to 50 – 102,400), shoot at 5fps, and have 4779 autofocus points.

Canon is saying that their new shooter can focus in just 0.05 seconds. Its Servo AF mode that allows more accurate autofocus tracking for moving subjects

The sensor also allows the camera to shoot 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) videos at 24fps or FullHD 1920 x 1080 videos at 60fps. The EOS RP supports MPEG-4 AVC and H.264 codecs for video recording.

The Canon EOS RP comes with a 0.39-inch OLED electronic viewfinder that has 2.36 million dots and 0.7x magnification in order for users to clearly see their subjects even before pressing the shutter button. Adding to the OLED EVF is a 3.0-inch Vari-Angle LCD touchscreen with support for Touch-and-Drag AF.

Like the Canon EOS R, the Canon EOS RP supports the brand’s new RF mount. Although there are only few lenses that are native to the RF mount, the EOS RP will support the company’s RF-EF mount adapter.

The Canon EOS RP is currently priced at PhP 89,998 (body only) or PhP 156,998 (with RF 24-105 IS). Those who will pre-order the latest full-frame mirrorless from Canon until March 25, 2018 will also receive:
