Nokia just came back with their new smartphones and they are already securing the brand’s future. Under HMD Global, Nokia has announced an exclusive partnership with Zeiss optics, which will bring their imaging technology to future Nokia smartphones.
Both companies have worked with each other in the past bringing us phones such as the Nokia 808 PureView which had a 41MP rear camera courtesy of Zeiss as well as the Lumia 920 that had an 8MP rear shooter, which despite the low megapixel count took great pictures at the time.
“Collaborating with Zeiss is an important part of our commitment to always deliver the very best experience for our customers. Our fans want more than a great smartphone camera, they want a complete imaging experience that doesn’t just set the standard but redefines it. Our fans expect it and, together with Zeiss, we’re delivering it. Co-developed imaging excellence for all,” said Arto Nummela, CEO of HMD Global.
There’s no information yet about when Nokia will release a Zeiss-powered smartphone. But due to the smartphone landscape today, it’s expected that the brand will release a dual-camera smartphone. We’re looking forward what smartphone both companies will be forging together.
