After teasing the said event during the previous Dota Asian Championship and the official sneak peeks last Monday and Tuesday, the creator of Dota 2, Valve, has confirmed that the game’s New Bloom festival is coming soon and it is packed with a Chinese New Year theme. The event comes once in a year and it is brining a number of changes in the game.

The Winter Wyvern

If you played enough Dota 1 to play with this hero, you’ll know that the Winter Wyvern uses ice-based attacks to attack its enemies. It has mobility skills that synergize with healing abilities that makes it a great support hero. Her ultimate ability can freeze an enemy in a block of ice while cursing its allies, forcing them to attack the frozen target.

Crystal Maiden Aracana

To everyone who bought Arcanas of other heroes in Dota 2, prepare your wallets as Crystal Maiden will receive a new Arcana and it is called “The Frost Avalanche”. This Arcana will be unique to the others as it will get a wolf puppy companion named “Aurora”. Arcana, if you are not familiar, is a term for special cosmetics that includes new animations and effects to the hero.

Aurora the Wolf Pup of Icewrack will join Crystal Maiden when you equip the Arcana. This obviously cost a lot of money, but who doesn’t want a puppy that will chase you all around the map?

New Bloom Map and Additional Changes

The New Bloom update will include several changes in the game, along with a New Bloom version of the standard map rolling out into play for a certain period of time. The new map will not be changing the gameplay, it will simply act as a cosmetic change of the current 5v5 map that the game currently uses.

In addition, a few hero tweaks will be rolling out to balance the game, as well as a number of bug fixes and UI improvements. This includes Phantom Lancer being brought back to Captains Mode, and Juggernaut and Axe, the two heroes who have been popular in the DAC, will have minor reductions to some of their skills and stats growth.

Which character do you think deserves to get the next Arcana? Let us know in the comments below.
