Four Great Leo Movies to Watch on iFLIX – Hungry Geeks
Finally! Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar for his role as Hugh Glass in The Revenant. The actor was said to be robbed several Oscar wins notably portrayals of Jordan Belfort on the Wolf of Wall Street and Danny Archer for Blood Diamond.
To celebrate this huge achievement for our boy Leo, here are four films you could watch on iFLIX.
The Departed
The Departed stars Leonardo DiCaprio together with Matt Damon, Mark Whalberg, Martin Sheen and Jack Nicholson. This movie is an english adaptation of a Hong Kong masterpiece, Infernal Affairs. Oh! this adaptation is directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese.
An undercover state cop who has infiltrated an Irish gang and a mole in the police force working for the same mob race to track down and identify each other before being exposed to the enemy, after both sides realize their outfit has a rat.
The Beach
The Beach stars a young backpacking, utopia seeking Leo on a quest for the perfect vacation. Ewan McGregor was supposedly be playing Leo’s role on this film but in the end DiCaprio got the role. The Beach was banned in Thailand for poor depiction of the country.
The desire to find something real — to connect with something or someone — is what drives Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio), a young American backpacker who arrives in Thailand with adventure on his mind. Etienne (Guillaume Canet) and Francoise (Virginie Ledoyen) join him on an adventure to “The Beach,” a mystical paradise. However, this paradise is less than perfect.
Catch Me If You Can
Playing alongside Mr. Tom Hanks; Catch Me If You Can is directed by Steven Speilberg. With Leo just finishing Gangs of New York and The Beach; his role as Frank Abagnale, Jr.. He played a young, confident and cheeky 19 year old that has a knack of cheating and getting away with things. This is in contrast to roles he played previously on The Beach and Gangs of New York.
Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) worked as a doctor, a lawyer, and as a co-pilot for a major airline — all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he was also a brilliant forger, whose skill gave him his first real claim to fame: At the age of 17, Frank Abagnale, Jr. became the most successful bank robber in the history of the U.S. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) makes it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him.
Shutter Island
Another Leo DiCaprio – Martin Scorsese tandem. Shutter Island is a movie you just need to watch. Twists of this movie goes along side the likes of Memento and Fight Club that’s what make this film one of the all-time favorite thriller movie of all time.
In 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding near-by.
