We’re excited to start Horizon Zero Dawn Enhanced on PS5 and PC* monday. We look forward to seeing what new features and aesthetic improvements are available that make full use of the PS5 and compatible PCs. Whether you are revisiting your preferred locations and figures for the first time or discovering the world of Horizon, we look forward to seeing all of your Photo Mode works.
The creation of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered required a lot of care and energy. Designers discussed a lot of the enhancements Nixxes and Guerrilla worked on in a prior website. I want to introduce you to Linda Burgers, the main producer at Nixxes, today to learn more about how this task came to be:
” Before we began working on Horizon Zero Dawn Enhanced, we set out to assess what was possible. At the time, Horizon Forbidden West had been announced, but was still in creation. Guerrilla gave us the opportunity to see the movie in its early stages. The spectacular visuals and general excellence of Horizon Forbidden West provided a large opportunity for an improved version of Horizon Zero Dawn.
From ground, leaf, density, the set dressing in settlements, clouds, lighting and physical animation, to the overall visual quality, we saw a great delta when we made comparisons.
In addition, we went back to the original idea arts of Horizon Zero Dawn, to get a feel of the original goal. particularly the foliage mass stood up. Oscar Stegehuis, Nixxes Art Director, started creating paint-overs of Horizon Zero Dawn screenshots to highlight and highlight the opportunities and the perception that were emerging for the remix in response to what we saw in the idea artwork.
The shared goal of Nixxes and Guerrilla was not to simply improve the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, but to completely re-create the initial Horizon Forbidden West photos without losing the original purpose and personality of the first game. To achieve this, we were in constant touch with the arts way, animation, and lighting groups at Guerrilla. Since the productions ‘ practices in Amsterdam and Utrecht are close to one another, we had people from Guerrilla come to work with us on a regular basis to provide direction in person and assist with complex issues involving various generation elements.
With the remarkable efforts, skills, and passion of the teams at Nixxes and Guerrilla, and the additional help from our co-developers at Weaseltron and Stellar Entertainment, I believe we have succeeded in making this a actuality.
The brilliant software developers from Weaseltron have been instrumental to the site’s equipment, technical skill wizardry, rendering pipelines, remaster tools and the bulk of the work on the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
A group of experienced artists from Stellar Entertainment worked with us on remastering the atmosphere, lighting, clouds, and environment property. Many of the convenience features from Horizon Forbidden West were also included by their engineers in the remix.
I could n’t be prouder of the entire team! People who worked on this project showed the talent and commitment to make our shared vision a reality.
