Huawei MateBook X and MateBook 14 refreshed with Intel and AMD CPUs | News and Reviews

Huawei is refreshing their MateBook X and MateBook 14 notebooks to pack the current lineup of Intel and AMD processors to improve their overall performance as well as introduce new features on both laptop lineup.

Huawei MateBook X 2020

The Huawei MateBook X 2020 is getting Intel’s 10th Generation Comet Lake processor for up to 26% increase in performance. It comes with a 13.0-inch 3000 x 2000 FullView display with multi-touch support as well as gesture commands.

In addition to its new processor, the notebook is now slimmer measuring at just 13.6mm at the thinnest point. It’s also fairly light measuring at just over 1kg. Due to the slender profile of the laptop, Huawei is placing two USB Type-C ports for external displays, file transfers, and charging.

To achieve this drastic weight and size reduction, Huawei has removed the fans on the notebooks. Heat dissipation now solely relies on its heatpipes and its newly implemented thermal hinge that attracts heat out the notebook.

The notebook will now come with a larger trackpad with haptic feedback, a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner, and Huawei Share. The Huawei MateBook X is expected to hit the market for EUR 1,799 (PhP 104,000) for the Intel Core i7 version and EUR 1,599 (PhP 93,000) for its Intel Core i5 model

Huawei MateBook 14 2020

The Huawei MateBook 14, meanwhile, will be updated to carry AMD’s Ryzen 4000 series processors for mobile devices. Like its name suggests, the device will have a 14.0-inch 2160 x 1440 IPS display without any significant bezels since the webcam has been moved to the keyboard like previous models.

The notebook is still fairly light weight at just 1.49kg despite its 56Whr battery. Huawei is including two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, a single USB Type-C, an HDMI connection, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with a 65W USB Type-C SuperCharger, which is compatible with the brand’s smartphone as well.

The Huawei MateBook 14 will come in multiple configurations to suite your needs:
