The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro are expected to launch tomorrow, March 26, 2020. Prior to its launch, however, more details about its specifications and pricing has been leaked.
It seems that both the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will come with a Kirin 990 5G, the same chip that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G uses though some regions may still receive the vanilla Kirin 990 with 4G support. The chipset is complemented with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage on both smartphones.
Both devices will have an OLED display with the P40 having a smaller 6.1-inch 2340 x 1080 display while the P40 Pro has a larger and faster 6.58-inch 2640 x 1200 90Hz display. It seems that both smartphones will also sport a pill-style 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera at the corner.
The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro still has the Leica branding on their lenses. The brand is upping the pixel count for both devices to 50MP f/1.9 Ultravision for the main camera with an RYYB sensor. The P40 will have a 16MP f/2.2 Ultrawide and an 8MP f/2.2 Telephoto while its bigger brother has a more impressive 40MP f/1.8 Video and Ultrawide camera, and a 12MP f/3.4 Telephoto lens.
Powering the Huawei P40 Pro is a 4,200mAh battery with 40W Fast Charging. The P40, on the other hand, has a smaller 3,800mAh battery with 22W Fast Charging. Both devices are expected to launch with Android 10 with EMUI 10 without any Google Services. Instead, the Huawei P40 series will be relying on the brand’s AppGallery for app support.
