Huawei Unveils MateBook – Hungry Geeks

Huawei ended last year with a bang with the announcement of the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. This time around at the MWC 2016, Huawei announces it’s own 2-in-1 Windows device with the Huawei MateBook. This should be Huawei’s first venture in computers but it looks as if they were doing it for years.

Huawei MateBook Specification:

The Huawei MateBook looks to rumble with the likes of Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Samsung’s TabPro S. Coupled with the MatePen that features a built-in laser pointer, and presentation clicker, the MateBook seems to be one of the most solid convertible PC we have seen so far as this device also boasts of Dolby Audio speakers, 10mm bezel and a single-touch side fingerprint sensor, and a single USB-C port which keeps this tablet clean and pretty.

The dock, dubbed as MateDock sports its own VGA, 2x USB, USB-C, HDMI and an Ethernet port.

Available in gray and gold, the MateBook is priced at 699USD for the Intel Core m3 version with 4GB RAM to a whopping 1599USD for an Intel Core M7 with 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD version. The keyboard will be priced at 129USD, the MatePen at 59USD and the MateDock at 89USD.
