Huge change coming to Dota 2 with 7.00 Patch – Hungry Geeks

Valve, the guys behind one of the most popular game Dota, just released the changes coming to the game’s latest patch 7.00. And it will change Dota 2’s meta forever.

For instance, the big guy Roshan that teams fight over for the Aegis will be be moving up the river. Heroes will also now have the skill trees similar to League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm, as well as a backpack that holds extra items, as well as a new building type called the Altar that’s found near each side’s secret shop. On top of that there’s also a new hero.

Valve made it look like a new hero is somewhat less important than the major game changes coming to Dota 2. The notes are divided into four sections, including one for the new hero, a redesign of the game’s HUD, changes to pre-game mechanics, as well as the usual change notes to all heroes, items, and the map that comes with the new patch.

The new hero is dubbed as the Monkey King, a melee character with escape and disable skills that puts him in the carry role of the team. His ultimate, “Wukong’s Command” blows a tuft of fur onto the battlefield, summoning a formation of monkey soldiers to join hum in the fight.

Dota 2 will also have a major aesthetic overhaul bringing updates to the game’s presentation and layout like a pre-match battle screen animation and selection screens. Effectively controlling your hero while collecting the necessary information from the game world ensures that the team has the upper hand in the task of destroying the enemy relics. With the full re-version of the game interface debut, the optimized map view there are a variety of new ways to help players at a glance the details of each situation in the game.

There are also major changes in the core gameplay like Hero Talent, backpack slot, map changes, as well as a wide range of other gameplay adjustments, these new content will make the war remains no longer the same as before.

The backpack system allows heroes to carry an additional three items, either to keep on reserve or as a place to stash recipes and other materials while building toward a stronger end-game item.

The talent tree system gives each hero a special set of bonuses from different level intervals. “Heroes to 10/15/20/25 level can choose the hero talent, get a special attribute bonus of skill enhancement. Each level has a unique branch route, and the bypassed branch will not be selected later. Each hero has a unique set of talent to choose from.”

As for the heroes, they have added more skills when scepter is purchased. You can check the video down below:
