iPhone 7: 5 Things you need to know before buying – Hungry Geeks

Before buying Apple’s latest iPhone 7, there are a couple of things you need to know before buying and investing  a large amount of money for it.

Airpods are not included

As you all know, Apple has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. But with this, Apple will include a standard EarPod with a lightning connector at the end and an adapter that lets you use your standard earphones. But Apple’s latest wireless AirPods will not be available at launch, it will only be available at a later that and it you’ll only be able to purchase it separately.

The Jet black iPhone 7 is rare

Apple stated that they will not disclose any information about the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sales but they assured everyone that it will be sold out immediately. So if you want to get the rarest iPhone, I suggest you purchase the Jet Black color model that is only available in the 128 and 256GB model. But also take note that the Jet Black color will be more expensive that the other options. So prepare money for that.

32GB is still not enough

Apple finally got rid of smallest 16GB model and went ahead at 32GB as a base. But mind you that 32GB is still not enough for the most of us. The system files alone take up a larger space and with the iPhone now able to shoot 4K videos, 32GB capacity will be gone in a short time. But if you’re not a fan of shooting 4K and store much of your files in the cloud, you should be fine with the 32GB model.

You can’t charge and listen to music at the same time

Now that Apple has removed the headphone jack, you won’t be able to charge your phone while listening to music simultaneously. If you want a solution for this, the only way to do that is to attach your iPhone to a dock and attach your earphones in the dock itself. I know that this is just outright wrong, but that’s the only way.

Water-resistant, not water-proof

Before you get excited and go on a beach party with your iPhone 7, always keep in mind that it is only water-resistant and not water-proof. You can’t jump off a cliff because the water will surely go inside the phone. It’s only meant to be put to water gently. Plus, Apple stated in their website that liquid damage will not be covered under their warranty. So be careful.
