June 26 is the PlayStation 5 release date for Ruffy and the Riverside.
I’m Patrick, and I’m the Art Director for Zockrates Laboratories, an independent studio that is already working on Ruffy and the Riverside. We are pleased to announce that Ruffy and the Riverside will be available for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025, along with our publication, Phiphen Games. We are pleased to support Playstation’s tradition of presenting cutting-edge and original play.
Ruffy and the Riverside is a platformer trip with genuinely original game. Ruffy uses his special Swap potential when he isn’t jumping, running, skating, or gliding. You can use the Swap to copy and paste materials to alter the game world, address puzzles, defeat enemies, and ultimately save the planet. The world will change if you just take a structure and chuck it somewhere else!
Change water into snow to cross an ocean, which is as simple as it sounds and has a lot of effects. You can hike up a waterfall by placing a climbing vine there. With the Swap, you can switch out objects, symbols, the sunlight for the sky, and any other colours. They may end up as a few if you shade birds the identical color. Grapes are more flavorful when they are dark, and some bushes may drop coins if they appear beautiful.
The Swap may, of course, be useful in battle as well. Why wouldn’t you thaw your adversary or fly over him like a bird? If you choose to transfer the elements correctly, you will have them on your side. Utilize your creative potential to create it. The secret of swapping things is actually present.
A ton of collectibles, side quests, and unique characters are included in Ruffy and the Riverside, a living animation. But wherever you go, you can interact with villagers and animals, complete part quests, and search for treasure wherever you go.
Ruffy may travel to remote locations, each with its own difficulties, in his desire to reclaim the six golden words. Ruffy must solve ancient mysteries, enter ice skating competitions, and bring hollowed islands to the waters surface. Wherever you go, you’ll discover new places to discover. You can also climb into rooms and solve riddles in 2D levels. You won’t get lost, because you won’t ever wander alone. The feisty butterfly, Pip, is always by your area and can take you through the air. Sir Eddler, the brave moles, is aware of all the techniques, and Sily, the clever frog, offers guidance whenever you need it.
Ruffy and the Riverside has a distinctive artistic fashion. All was hand-drawn, including the UI and the chart, and all materials. More than 600 individual drawings are Ruffy’s only. Why are there so many? Also, for everything he does, he was drawn from eight factors. No wonder this planet needed seven years to come to be. We hope you’ll enjoy exploring the result: a vivid, colorful world.
Changing the world and changing patterns feels magical. We frequently get the question,” How did we get the idea of the Swap,” and we want to answer that in this humorous way.
We did a lot of drawing for the amount style when we first started working on Ruffy and the Riverside. When I looked through those illustrations one evening, I came across this waterfall-themed black and white illustration. It was difficult to tell whether this gathering was a fountain or a torrent of lava due to some things about it. When I pondered what it was, I realized how wonderful it would be if it could get both. What if the game’s textures may be completely changed and the setting transformed? The Swap was created.
Ruffy and the Riverside has been a lot of our love, and bringing it to PlayStation seems like a dream come true for us. We all had childhood favorites like Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet &, Clank, and you can definitely sense those emotions in Ruffy and the Riverside. Ruffy’s release on PlayStation 5 then really brings us the same joy as it once did when we were children. When the sport launches on June 26th, I hope it gives you all the same impression.
