LTFRB, Grab, and Uber finally reach a middle ground | Hungry Geeks | Latest news

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Grab, and Uber has been all the hubbub the past few days due to an order issued by LTFRB that disallows Grab and Uber drivers without any Certificate of Public Convenience franchise to do business around the metro.

A statement posted in Senator JV Ejercito’s Facebook page ascertains that Grab and Uber will be filing a Motion for Reconsideration that will suspend the original order. This may be a temporary fix for the mean time, but this gives commuters that have relied on both ride-sharing companies to enjoy an easier commute all the while LTFRB, Grab, and Uber agrees on a more long term solution.

“I’m glad that we were able to set this meeting for LTFRB and TNVS to come to the table and understand each other. After all, the intention of this meeting was to emphasize the safety and convenience of passengers, and also not to disrupt the good services offered by Grab and Uber to the public,” said Senator JV Ejercito.

Hopefully, the three entities will soon find a better long term solution for the convenience of the regular commuter in the metro.
