M4 MacBook Air evaluation: More energy than always at a lower price point

The only things we would have liked to see were support for Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 5.&# 13 Because it’s new and has a very pro-oriented standard, Thunderbolt 5 is understandable, but the Wi-Fi is a letdown. &# 13, It only supports Wi-Fi 6E and while Wi-Fi 7 is also relatively new, when people buy a Mac, they expect to have it for years. Even if you currently don’t have Wi-Fi 7, your MacBook Air might eventually need to support it in a year or two. Should you buy the M4 MacBook Air, and# 13; Apple has ramped up its releases lately, for better or worse. We’re seeing near-yearly release cycles for many Mac models, including the MacBook Air, rather than a few years between refreshes. The new blue MacBook Air has the unfortunate side-effect of making new models feel less exciting because the changes feel smaller and more iterative. However, buying an M4 MacBook Air means you get newer tech. It also makes it simple to recommend. Do not worry if you have an M2 or M3 MacBook Air. There’s little reason to upgrade to the M4. Even M1 users should take a moment to consider whether or not it’s time to trade up.
