One of the chemicals in a french fry is called tertiary butylhydroquinone, or butane. If you are not familiar with it, it is the chemical you put in a lighter as petrol. McDonald’s use this chemical as food preservative; while dimethylpolysiloxane; which is a water-repellant is also added as an anti-foaming agent. Other things that are added are different sauces, canola oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor, hydrolysed wheat, hydrolysed milk, and citric acid.The finished product contains 510 calories, 6 grams of protein, 24 grams of fat, 67 grams of carbohydratte and 290 milligrams of sodium.
