There are 4 kinds of potatoes with 14 chemicals and a total of 19 ingredients to inside the famous McDonald’s french fry. This might be a little bit scary for all the McDonald’s lovers out there, but food mythbuster Grant Imahara who was allowed to go in McDonald’s french fry plant in Idaho; explains why the fries are all good to go!  One of the chemicals in a french fry is called tertiary butylhydroquinone, or butane. If you are not familiar with it, it is the chemical you put in a lighter as petrol. McDonald’s use this chemical as food preservative; while dimethylpolysiloxane; which is a water-repellant is also added as an anti-foaming agent. Other things that are added are different sauces, canola oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor, hydrolysed wheat, hydrolysed milk, and citric acid.The finished product contains 510 calories, 6 grams of protein, 24 grams of fat, 67 grams of carbohydratte and 290 milligrams of sodium.
