With the Mobile World Congress officially starting off yesterday, seeing new smartphones isn’t really a surprise. What’s really surprising is a Windows smartphone from the laptop company, HP, and it is packed with an impressive specifications.

Dubbed as the Elite x3, the devices contains a 6-inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) display, 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. If that is not enough for your memory needs, it also supports a microSD card up to 2TB.

Other specifications are 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, 8-megapixel front camera, a USB-C, fingerprint sensor, a surprising iris scanner and it rates IP67 which means that its partially waterproof and will also resist dust ingress. Battery won’t let you down as the smartphone is powered by a big 4,150mAh battery.

What’s more attractive is that the Elite X3 supports Windows 10 Continuum for phones which allows your phone to act as your PC stand-in by using it with one of two different docks.

A very good smartphone overall, but will it really click given that it has Windows OS? We’ll see.
