The upcoming PS5 version of the popular looking activity game series Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to release on February 28. At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, I had the chance to enjoy the Story Quest, which involved powerful combat with a frog-like animal demon known as the Chatacabra.
My personality creation approach was a fun part of the story quest’s beginning. I had the liberty to customize every aspect of the hunter’s looks and even that of the bird’s trusted partner, Palico.
I was able to travel through Windward Plains in a dust send with the Forbidden Lands Research Commission as the story progressed. You’ll understand how your personality came to be a member of the payment through memories. Suddenly, the field cut to a nerve-racking fight, where a flock of desert-dwelling Balaharas are in hot quest of a woman riding a Seikret. I quickly leaped onto a Seikret in search of the child without a second’s thought.
My Seikret was operating automatically during this game image to catch up with the girl. I jumped over boulders and slammed through the weather to close the distance, but with some freedom to control the camera’s view and my lovable companion, I was completely immersed in the activity.
It was my turn to be pursued by the legions of fierce Balaharas in a heart-pounding fight when I suddenly caught up with the girl. As I ran through the plains and attacked them with my warrior, they were continuous, closing in on us from every possible way.
The hunter made the decision to get him after learning that the young girl had broken up with her brother. To get more information before embarking on the goal, I sought the advice of the Handler, Alma. She kindly suggested which of the 14 weapons I should carry on the quest, in her opinion, and which one should I use.
Thankfully, the girl’s Seikret remembered her missing brother’s taste, so it was able to locate him quickly. Though I was guided to the area immediately, having complete control over the Seikret’s actions was free. The R1 and R2 allowed me to promote and brake, between, while retaining their positions made it come to a fast stop or jump forward. With the remaining keep, as expected, I guided my support in the way I wanted it to go. From time-to-time, I made excursions, stopping off at sites that grabbed my attention. I also took advantage of the hands-free drive to collect hunting items, components, and wield my tool.
Soon after arriving at the location, a straightforward task of looking for the brother quickly turned into a desperate search for a formidable foe as I discovered the girl’s nephew in immediate danger from a Chatacabra attack. I attacked the same poor place consistently using the new scar system to cause major damage. Focus style is also added to Monster Hunter Wilds by holding down L2 to make the creature’s scars appear a reticle on the screen for advice on where to strike and a dark show on the creature’s scars for easier aiming. Despite using a heavy, slow-motion tool like the Great Sword, the ability to change the objective level, even during the attack movements, made it possible for me to attack the weak point successfully.
By pressing R1 in Focus style, I uncovered the proper Focus Strike. This unique strike causes a lot of damage and shock the enemy by connecting with a scar or weak point. I was able to heal several wounds with one Focus Attack, unquestionably one of the game’s most exciting times. You can awaken your Siekret while hunting by pressing the vertical essential for prompt mounting. When mounted, I used a sharpener to enhance my weapon and carefully drank a recovery potion to recover my health.
A tool that makes SOS Flare available and assists NPC aid hunting is another distinctive feature. When other hunting join the battle, the creature’s trend is most likely to be reversed. This is a fantastic way to divert injury for new people in this series. Although this feature was n’t present in the offline single-player demonstration, I was able to learn that you can recruit other people while engaging aid agents electronically.
After defeating the Chatacabra, I hurried back to the camp with the rescued nephew. The recently reunited siblings shared stories to catch up with their previous lives as the primary goal in the first book came to an end.
From the gripping Balahara fight scene to utilizing the wound structure and Focus function in the tough search for the obscure Chatacabra, The Story Quest was rich in content. When Monster Hunter Wilds debuts on February 28th, PS5 and players embark on the main mission, I’m convinced that new hunters and those who are about to uncover the series for the first time will find themselves mesmerized by the world that unfolds.
