Much awaited Sony α6500 starts at Php81,999 – Hungry Geeks

Sony’s new flagship mirrorless camera, the α6500 is now in the Philippines. After much hype and expected release date, this powerful camera packs a super fast AF (Auto Focus) speed of 0.05 seconds. Additionally, the α6500 can shoot up to 11 frames per seconds with continuous autofocus with 24.2MP CMOS sensor.

We are honestly excited about this camera as it features Optical image stabilization and better auto-focus that is perfect for our industry of blogging and video making.

The A6500 also has improved software with touch screen locking of auto-focus with assist using the OLED Tru-Finder which has a high resolution of 2.4 million dots. So you can track your finger while looking at the viewfinder.

Video shooting is now up to 4K in resolution at a high bit rate of up to 100Mbps or even 50Mbps during Full HD shooting. Full HD shoots can go up to 100fps for quick editing of slow motion videos for more dramatic shots.

The Optical Image Stabilization seen with the A7II is also now with the A6500. The 5-axis optical image stabilization provides better shutter speed, stable shots even in challenging lighting conditions. Overall videos will be more stabilized, shots are sharper and will have less blurred moments.

Quick capture videos is also possible for up to 8MP in resolution while recording 4K videos.

Sharing is fast with the A6500 capable of Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, QR or the old MicroUSB cable for data transferring. What we like about Sony’s camera setup is their camera can be charged via MicroUSB, so you can use your powerbank to charge the camera.

The Sony α6500 is now available in the Philippines for Php81,999 for body only. Prices with lenses varies per configuration. Pricing is quite steep for a mirrorless camera, but Sony’s positioning and innovative features for the α6500 is definitely intriguing.
