Many players find it extremely exciting to build a living room similar to a home or town, to gather and use resources, and to discover new ways to communicate with your surroundings. With Towers of Aghasba, separate engineer Dreamlit Inc. is releasing a brand-new taking on the tower type and will be available for Early Access on November 19 on PS5. Towers of Aghasba is a visually stunning activity in a lively, magical atmosphere that combines open-world investigation, fight, and adventure with the building and resourcefulness of life sims. We recently had the opportunity to preview new gameplay and hear from the developers about this future charming adventure.

Withering hills
A long time ago, the Shimu people were forced from their ancient land–the mythical Aghasba–by a destructive power called the Withering. The Shimu need presently come to reclaim what was taken from them because Fate has caused a tragedy on Aghasba. Moving into the shoes of the group’s Junior Architect, you have many roles to complete: warrior, warrior, explorer, scientist, crafter, man, organizer, gatherer, and builder. To put an end to the dark force once and for all, all of these skills ( and more ) will be required.
You are not thrust into battle in these lands, but you are otherwise taught the methods of production and development, despite the presence of black troops and hostile creatures there. You work to get back the Shriveled land and build new places filled with color and life by revitalizing the country’s communities and building societies.
Rebuilding your manner
By selecting a piece of land and farming grains, you can start small. A peculiar, small grow thing seeds from the first seed you plant next to a Colossal Tree. More than 120 different kinds of plants and the trees supply other kinds of existence and resources to build and create with. By bringing in and planting various grains, you can maintain a local ecosystem, and from there create cities and agricultural organizations. Your deeds completely determine the manner these lands change.
Many of Aghasba’s guiding principles are person choice and agency. Besides choosing what you grow, you can choose how to communicate with the world’s species through acts like shooting, fishing, feeding animals, rebuilding towns, and making a wealth of personalization items.
As you go about your exploration and cultivation, you start to discover remnants of the traditional Shimu culture and explanations for why people had to leave this place. According to Towers of Aghasba designer Dave Nguyen,” there is a narrative around the group of people you arrive with.” You are all attempting to restore the land together, and along the way there will be a variety of optional quests, branching of the quest lines, and freedom to explore. The player will discover bits and pieces of history about this place and the former, older civilization through NPCs and by discovering relics scattered throughout the land.
It’s not all rebuilding and exploring, however. Sometimes you will find yourself in a conflict, whether it is due to your need to hunt for supplies or to battle evil withers. At the start of the game, roughly 70 % of the world is covered by the Withering’s blight, leaving you plenty of work to do to reclaim it. It is up to you whether you want to spend some time rebuilding before attempting to defeat the Withered monsters or attempt to do so right away, as is customary for this game.
Aghasba the beautiful
One of the most eye-catching aspects of Towers of Aghasba is the visual design. The enchanting environments, strange creatures, and mysterious structures that dot the landscape create a world rich in appeal and intrigue. The best aspect is that you can explore it however you want.
In our preview session, the game team discussed many of their inspirations for the graphic design. References to ancient civilizations from Africa, as well as the Aztecs and the Jomon peoples, helped give the game’s visual identity a distinct feel. The team also expressed their deep admiration for Studio Ghibli’s beloved animated films, particularly Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke. In fact, there’s a direct connection to Studio Ghibli in Towers of Aghasba: Many of the game’s textures were hand-painted by Ghibli artist Yoichi Nishikawa.
PS5 gamers can also be relieved to know that their experience is being provided with an especially optimized sensory experience. The 3D spatial audio has received particular attention, immersing you in the world as you explore. You can turn your camera around and really get a good sense of where sound is coming from because you’ll hear bugs flying around and the waves crashing along the shorelines, Nguyen says.
The DualSense wireless controller will likely play a significant role in the Aghasba experience, too. ” We use the controller lights to indicate low and critical health.” When a player is in a fight or feels the power behind a large creature’s footsteps, the player may receive haptic feedback during combat and in a number of other situations that will make the experience more immersive. Adaptive triggers are also employed to give a sense of weight when swinging various melee weapons and also when a bow is drawn back, Nguyen continues.
One of the few promising titles to debut in Early Access on PS5 this November 19 is Towers of Aghasba, with additional content and updates regularly.
