Realme is entering the quad-camera smartphone market with the Realme 5 series. Composed of the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, both smartphones come with new chipsets and quad rear cameras while still retaining the budget-friendly nature of previous Realme smartphones.
Better specifications while retaining what we loved about Realme
The Realme 5 comes with a 6.5-inch LTPS IPS Dewdrop HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 3. The Realme 5 Pro, however, has a smaller 6.3-inch LTPS IPS Dewdrop Display with Gorilla Glass 5 although the resolution has been upgraded to FullHD+.
Both smartphones will also be the first Realme smartphones to have quad cameras at the back. The Realme 5 Pro has a 48MP f/1.79 main camera powered by a Sony IMX 586 sensor, an 8MP f/2.25 utrawide shooter, a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 portrait camera.
While the Realme 5’s main camera is a less impressive 12MP f/1.8 shooter, the other companion lenses remain the same. The cameras on both smartphones are accompanied by an LED Flash, Dual Pixel Autofocus, EIS, Chroma Boost, as well as 960fps slow motion video.
Inside the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro’s diamond-cut shell are new Qualcomm chipsets. The former will have a Snapdragon 655 with up to 4GB of RAM while the latter comes with a Snapdragon 712 with up to 8GB of RAM.
