Samsung Philippines just finished their 1st day of their Note7 replacement program, purchasers of the Galaxy Note7 are encouraged to participate in the program to ensure safety and experience full productivity from the device.
Samsung held special areas in SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia for Note7 users to replace their phones. Samsung executives also participated in the replacement program to ensure customers are getting the best experience despite the mishap of defective batteries that could lead to explosion.
But what will be the difference of the replaced Galaxy Note7? Samsung talked to Google to create a special green battery icon just for the device. This was previously shown in previous generations of Samsung phones, but Google made strict guidelines about this to create uniformity across all brands using the Android OS.
All customers who will get their Note7 replaced will get a free screen protector worth Php399 and Php1,000 Gift Certificate for accessories to be used in any Samsung Experience Stores Nationwide.
As of writing, customers who purchased Note7 units telco operators Globe and Smart are encouraged to contact their respective telco for the replacement details.
If you are not satisfied or doubting your device just in case, Samsung made this landing page to check the phone via the IMEI number http://www.samsung.com/ph/note7imeichecker/
We hope that the replacement program will run smoothly and we hope to get more details from Globe and Smart for updates about their replacement program. This recent mishap is definitely a lesson that even giant companies like Samsung could damage a company because of manufacturing mistakes. But we believe this is an awakening not only for the brand but also for the industry to challenge innovators for a safer and long-lasting battery source.
