Shopee, a popular marketplace app has officially landed here in The Philippines.
What does this app do?
Just like any other e-commerce application, it’s for everyone to shop and sell on-the-go with peace of mind. You can set up your own shop by just snapping the picture of the product, setting up the detailed information and price, then uploading it so everyone can view the product.
How’s it different from other apps?

- Guaranteed transactions– After placing your order and going through the payment, the app will hold onto your cash first and will inform the seller that you have already paid. Until you have received and verified the authenticity of the item, only then will Shopee give the payment to the seller. No more bogus buyers and sellers running away with your money.
- Sell like a pro– If you’re a seller, the Seller Assistant feature will guide you through everything in the app. You can manage your listings easily, you can check your order details at a glance, and manage your customers conveniently.
Look and feel of the interface
The app itself has a very small file size – it’s only 34.1mb, so rest assured that you won’t have the need to delete files for you to install it. We’ve also look through changelogs of the app and noticed that they are constantly looking for bugs and are updating it.
Shopee is simple and easy to understand. The homepage will list you the categories in an organized manner with the promos and discounts on the header. On the category page, you can filter the products based on popularity, location, and time. There’s also an advanced search feature if you have a certain item in mind.
On the single product page, you’ll see detailed information about the item such as the brand, condition, available stock, shipping duration and the location where it will be coming from. Make sure you are registered and logged in to enjoy Shopee’s full features. If you’re looking for gadgets like we are, you’ll see the specifications of the item so you won’t have the need to research first–which is very convenient. You can also chat with the seller if you want to ask questions.
All in all, the app looks nice and the user interface is very clear and easy to use. The guaranteed transactions and the app being free are nice features for everyone and will definitely entice you to use the app.
