Smart Communications just recently opened their 2nd flagship store at SM City North Edsa, located at the Annex building 4th floor. Smart has cemented its position in the technology war zone which is the SM City North Edsa Cyberzone.
The new store design offers open wide spaces to freely roam around the store. Friendly crew equipped with wireless communication devices and queuing system via tablets will assist you with your inquiry.
Touchscreen is the name of the game, customers can freely interact with touchscreen pods to check out the latest offers of the company. You can even have perks when you play their on-site games, we also liked the straight comparison of phones when getting a postpaid plan. Their touchscreen interface is intuitive and doesn’t require too much supervision.
Aside from opening the store, Smart’s FVP Wireless Consumer Operations Head Ms.Katrina Luna-Abelarde also started the introduction of new innovative products from the company.
Lack of financial access
Only 7 million Filipinos have access to credit cards, this is a big opportunity to enable the remaining population with the access to online shopping, purchase and even cheaper alternatives.
That’s why Paymaya’s Kenneth Palacios and Smart’s Carlo Endaya introduced their partnership to provide virtual MasterCard accounts to all Smart customers. Along with this, they get 10% discount to Smart load (limited time offer only) and discounts to establishmets like Zalora. You also get rewards like Jollibee of a free Yum burger with every Php500 purchase.
Lastly, they will soon introduce a Mastercard physical card and NFC payment sticker to pay conveniently by Q4 2016.
More data for all
Their successful 1GB prepaid data is now also in their postpaid plans. With the new Giga Plans of Smart, plans have up-sized data that is up to 10x as compared to previous plans. To give example, a Plan 999 smartphone can now give you an Oppo F1s smartphone with 5GB of data and 1 free app of choice like Youtube. If you don’t want the smartphone, you can simply get a Line-only plan with 6 months lock-in with 10GB of data. This is paired with unlimited text to all networks and allocated all-net calls.
700MHz for all
We love the new 700Mhz frequency of LTE, it gives up speeds up to 35mbps easily in places around the metro. To let everyone experience this, Smart offers the new O+ Presto 700 LTE for Php2,188. This is a quad-core 5″ smartphone at lets you experience the fastest speed possible from smart thanks to its 700MHz capability.
Better roaming experience
With traveling the world now becoming more accessible, its best to have your own internet connection to avoid the hassle. Smart introduces the Smart Travel WiFi which is a rentable pocket WiFi for 390 pesos a day. This is available in select partner countries of Smart and can be billed to your postpaid or upfront payment, so its also available to non-smart subscribers.
This pocket WiFi will be delivered to your address and will also be picked up free of charge. Its a convenient way to have internet access not only for you but also to your friends as it can connect to 5 devices at the same time.
Philippine Teleserye at your fingertips
Smart also updates their Gigasurf promo with 1 day free access to iWantTV for still Php50. This is a great addition to consume content as its one of the best apps locally to access Filipino teleseryes.
Full LTE by 2018
Smart’s Chief Technology and Information Advisor Joachim Horn also updated everyone that the company is now in full swing of implementing their 700MHz frequency not only in Metro Manila but also in the rest of the Philippines. They plan to make the Philippines 100% LTE enabled by 2018 to fully utilize all digital products of the company.
That’s it for now, actually that is a lot of announcements from Smart. We are glad with their upgraded postpaid plans which is a much needed allocation upgrade to keep up with our data-heavy lifestyle.
