For those waiting for a slimmer version of the PS4, the time has finally arrived! Sony has been teasing quite a lot since the past few months and finally, it was made concrete with today’s announcement. The slimmer and lighter PlayStation®4 will become available in the Philippines starting on the 24th of September 2016. The price is also expected to be less pricier than its predecessor, launching at only PhP 17,300 (SRP) for the 500GB version. The console will also be available as bundled packages with upcoming titles such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and NBA 2K17.
The new PS4 Slim has about 70% of the volume of the first version of the PS4 (CUH-1000). This change has reduced the weight to a more portable 2.1kg. The new PS4 is also reported to be more power efficient than the previous models, boasting a maximum of 34% less power consumption.
I personally prefer the PS4 Slim’s design. It still looks like the previous model but it doesn’t deviate to much from the sleek edginess and minimalist design. Notable changes include the softer corners. Sony has also decided to do away with the scratch/smudge magnet gloss finish.
Is it a good time to get it now? If you don’t have a PS4, well, hell yeah! With titles such as Final Fantasy XV, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last Guardian, hitting the doorstep, it’s wise to invest at this time. Or you can opt for the pricier alternative, the PS4 Pro.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Singapore Branch (SIES) announced today at “2016 PlayStation® Asia Conference” that two PlayStation®4 bundle sets will be available in the Philippines. Details as below:
