Tittos Kapitolyo: Your craving is solved – Hungry Geeks

We always have that craving for meat that will need a heavy meal to satisfy us, recently we had the craving for steak and we found the proper one along with other mouthwatering dishes at Tittos restaurant in Kapitolyo, Pasig.

Located at the front of Kapitolyo, Tittos is a great addition to the ever-growing food street craze in the area. The restaurant takes pride in bringing in proper Latin based dishes with a hint of Filipino taste.

If you can’t read throughout our review, here is our video impressions of the restaurant for convenience.

Starters

Starting the meal was traditional Nachos, Chicken Wings and specialty tacos. We were supprised with the Nacho El Gigante served as it was not a joke by its name, good for 4-5 persons it’s one of the meatiest nachos we’ve encountered around. Their Tittos wings are fried chicken wings glazed with BBQ sauce and a blue cheese crema to top it all, its crispy and savory and heavenly with the blue cheese sauce.

Next are the two specialty tacos, the Salted Egg Shrimp Tacos which is served flat along with the ingredients of shrimp, salted egg paste, vegetables and optional lime to add zest. We love the combination of flavors especially shrimp salted by well…salted egg, though fair warning that the paste texture cause of the salted egg might be a deal breaker.

The Beef Barbacoa Taco on the other hand is best for meat lovers, the slowly cooked meat is melt in your mouth experience. Paired with their specialty taco shell that is soft on the inside with a hint of crispiness on the outside.

Don’t forget to use the three provided sauces which are garlic mexican crema (white), mild spicy salsa verde (green) and spicy salsa roja (red) for the tacos to add flavor.

Main Course

Now, lets move to the main course. We have the Paella de Carne which is a grilled chicken inasal based Paella, so the rice comes with side veggies such as cripy onions, chimichurri and added beef bits.

Costillitas are cuban inspired baby back ribs with special house BBQ sauce, we personally love this one cause of our steak craving. We love how soft and juicy the meat is along with the non-drowing BBQ sauce, so the flavor of the meat still stands out.

The 18 Hours Gaucho Steak is our personal favorite, we love how tender the hanger steak and its well coated with flavor that is salty and sweet at the same time. It comes with a side dish, but honestly we could eat it as it is.

To top it all up, the Elote was the crowd favorite in our dine-in experience. Everyone loved how the Elote charcoal grilled corn was flavorful, along with the special butter, tamarind spices, mayo lime that gives its sour yet enjoyable flavor. We weren’t much of a fan of sour foods, but this one is an exemption as we can even eat it with rice!

Dessert

To top all of the food we ate, was Tittos special dessert. Made in-house by their pastry cheft, Tittos Ube Churros showcase a tower of 4 churros made with ube, white chocolate frosting, dulce de leche, caramel and chocolate drizzle. It’s a dessert that might look too sweet, but it’s actually just right to soothe your taste buds after a heavy meal.

Another secret from Tittos

Aside from a great restaurant, Tittos also houses a secret hangout place for people in the area. We were welcomed in RM-16 which is a secret bar located behind Tittos, why secret? Cause you need a special code to enter insde, through a coke vending machine inspired door!

RM-16 is opens in the night until early morning just like a regular bar, what’s cool about this is the concept of an industrial inspired bar hidden in the peaceful neighborhood of Kapitolyo. It’s a much deserved place to escape aside from big clubs in BGC and Makati, so don’t forget to ask for the code when you drop by Tittos.

What’s cool for all of these is that Tittos has a dedicated Valet parking service for all customers, so this is a much win for the restaurant especially for Kapitolyo’s lack of parking space. So don’t forget to remember our tips when you drop by Tittos, just remember 5 things
