Toyota Philippines just recently had its Hybrid Forum, indicating their strong desire to uplift the Philippine automotive market to adopt hybrid electric vehicles. Currently, their only lineup offering is the Prius, but it’s now going to change with the ushering of the new generation Toyota Corolla Altis with a specific hybrid model.

The All-New Corolla Altis lineup is headlined by a hybrid-electric variant, marking the first time that the Toyota Hybrid technology is made available in a mainstream, high-volume model. This further boosts Toyota’s push to provide technologically-advanced and sustainable mobility options to more Filipinos.

This new generation of the Corolla Altis is redesigned with improved performance and accentuated appeal, all while retaining its timeless legacy. The classic model well-loved by Filipinos further elevates its image by enhancing performance, comfort and convenience, while providing peace of mind with its advanced safety features.

In line with the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, environment-friendly technology is made more accessible with the introduction of the All-New Corolla Altis 1.8V HV variant. Competitively priced at Php1.58M, and backed by its loyal brand following and established legacy, the All-New Corolla Altis is a perfect entry-point for Filipino customers wanting to shift to HEV technology.

The 1.8V HV variant is powered by a VVT-I, 4-Cylinder In-Line DOHC, 16 Valve engine with 1,798cc displacement and electric motor, 121hp total system maximum output, and 142Nm maximum torque @ 3,600 rpm. Drivers can experience a smooth and quiet ride with better fuel efficiency while the battery self-charges during the drive. Three driving modes are available (Sport, Eco, Normal), giving the driver more control.

Alongside with being a hybrid model, the high-end Toyota Corolla Altis features high-end safety and industry-leading innovations for its price point such as their Toyota Safety Sense (TSS).

  • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
  • Pre-Collision System (PCS)
  • Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
  • Automatic High Beam (AHB)

Features mentioned are found in high-end vehicles such as the Hiace Super Grandia Elite. This is thanks to the advanced sensors and dedicated camera embedded within the vehicle.

Additionally, the variants are all equipped with 7 SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and 3-point emergency locking retractor.

Of course, the design is also uplifted to usher a new face of Toyota, representing a futuristic and modern classic look.

Prices of the new Corolla Altis are also elevated starting at Php999,999 or a thousand shy to a million pesos for the entry E manual transmission model.

While the high-end gas 1.6 V CVT model is at Php1,185,00 and additional 15,000 for the White Pearl model. And the 1.8V HV hybrid model is priced at Php1,580,000 and additional Php15,000 for the White Pearl model.
