Uber fined with PhP 190 million to lift suspension | Hungry Geeks | Latest news

After much debacle, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), announced this Friday, August 25 2017, that the ride-sharing app would need to pay a fine of PhP 190 million to lift the suspension order against it.

Uber has been banned for one month of operations back in August 14, however, the company defied the LTFRB’s orders and filed a motion for reconsideration against the ban while allowing their cars to do their usual routes.

With Grab essentially becoming one of the major players in the Metro Manila, and several other transportation network companies trying to claw their way into the Metro such as MiCab and U-HOP, will this decision finally bring back Uber to the roads of the Metro to ease the everyday hassle of commuting? We’ll know more in the coming weeks.
