Vivo Announces Octa-Core Y55 Mobile Phone – Hungry Geeks
Vivo announces their new entry-level offering with the Vivo Y55.
At the launch, Vivo takes pride on the Y55 for being the only entry-level octa-core mobile phone out in the market. Apart from the octa-core CPU, the Y55 carries a 5.2 inch HD IPS display, which makes gives it a superb screen at any viewing angles, a 1.4 Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 128GB via micro SD.
Vivo also equips the Y55 with a 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5MP front camera with smart screen flash. This smart screen flash automatically switches on during dark/ night conditions to lighten up the surrounding and take selfies.
Another great thing about the Vivo Y55 is its triple card slots feature. The Y55 can take two 4G SIM slots, and another slot for 128GB external memory support.
This entry-level Vivo Y55 is priced at 7,990Php, it includes Vivo’s own Funtouch OS 2.6 UI, which has similarities with the iOS ui but on an android platform. It also comes with the eye protection mode, which filters out the blue light to protect your vision and prevent eye strain, and the Smart Split 2.0 that would allow you to use a couple of messaging applications while watching videos. The Y55 is incased in a aluminum unibody, with rounded edges that fits well with the hand.
