Why do you need a 3G tablet? – Hungry Geeks

ASUS Philippines recently handed us a Fonepad FE171CG tablet and with our ample lifestyle of always bringing phablets, we were kinda puzzled in how to utilized the tablet into our current lifestyle. But here are some points we think in why is it good and bad to have a 3G tablet like the FonePad FE171CG.

Before we start here are the specs of the Fonepad FE171CG

1. Extra Phone and Tablet

Bringing two phones today is already a hassle, especially if you have an iPhone or other single sim devices. Bringing a 2nd phone simply isn’t favorable today since we always want to see our notifications, messages and even emails in one device. So bringing in a 3G tablet can be convenient as you don’t really use it as a primary device, where you can put your secondary sim and accounts, making your notifications organized and less cluttered.

2. Movies aren’t tiny anymore

We all have our favorite movie to watch, so its still best to watch on a tablet since the screen is bigger. The Fonepad is fortunately equipped with IPS panel for vivid colors and wide angle viewing, making it perfect for watching with friends. Plus, the speakers of the Fonepad is in the front, making it loud and clear for personal movie watching.

3. Make it a pocket Wi-Fi

With multiple devices we have, we tend to buy a pocket wifi to accommodate all of our wifi-devices. Fortunately the Fonepad can act as a 3G pocket wifi giving more than 6 hours of wifi-tethering. Pretty convenient since the battery is bigger and you can use it the same time for watching movies, reading books or simply surfing

4. Entertainment Database

Its really cool to simply pull out a device and watch or listen to your favorite entertainment devices, especially if you are in a traffic jam or stuck somewhere. Good thing the Fonepad FE171CG is thin and light, not to mention quite good looking. It’s body is made of matte finish plastic with chrome edges for a more comfortable grip. Plus the buttons have the concentric circle design that is ASUS known for, definitely a tablet that would stand out.

So there you have it, we think having a tablet might be an option today with phones getting bigger in screen size. But its still better to have a tablet to organize your content and even enjoy better experience when playing games, movies or even listening to music. Our tablet here is the Fonead FE171CG which retails for Php6,995, quite affordable and reasonable for a tablet that is powerful and not to mention thin and light.
