News recently of Nokia 6 will be available via Lazada, due to its rare availability the phone jacked up as much as Php18,000+ in price as compared to its 12-13k SRP. Come on Lazada the “21k” original price won’t fool anyone, you should really stop it with the fake % savings.
The item is fulfilled by “Hellotronics” which is also a seller for Infinix, Xiaomi and other Chinese branded phones, their reputation is good but…here are reasons why you shouldn’t buy it and hold your precious money.
- It’s built for China – If you check all photos of the phone, it’s meant to be sold in China including exclusive apps for the country such as WeChat. Plus, once you open the phone it’s in Chinese! Sure you can use the phone in the Philippines, but buying something more expensive than the SRP without any warranty is pretty…for a hardcore fan to do.
- Don’t spend more for the price – The Snapdragon 430 isn’t worthy for 18,000 pesos, just simply get more worthy phones for the price range like a Galaxy A5, GR5 2017 or even a ZenFone 3.
- Estimated Delivery is still estimated – with our experience with Lazada, shipments from abroad (since the source is China) are still dreadful and you might even wait for more than the “assured” Jan 29-31 delivery date if you buy today.
Anyways, if you’re still decided to get one…here are the specifications
- 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display
- 2.5D glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core CPU
- Adreno 505 GPU
- 4GB RAM
- 64GB internal storage
- up to 128GB via microSD
- 16MP rear camera w/ Laser AF, PDAF, Dual-tone flash
- 8MP front-facing camera
- 3G, 4G, LTE
- Dual-SIM (Hybrid Tray)
- WiFi 802.11 n, Bluetooth 4.0
- GPS, A-GPS
- Fingerprint scanner, USB OTG
- 3000mAh battery with fast charging
- Android 7.0 Nougat with Nokia UI
- 169 g
But then again, I’m sure online sellers like Kim Store, Widget City and even other Lazada sellers won’t fall behind the race as suspected news that they will also carry the new Nokia phone. If that happens, definitely the price is way lower than Php18,000 since competition will open up.
On the other hand, we are glad that Nokia is finally going back to the smartphone scene and it will be interesting how will they compete in the very harsh smartphone world. For the Philippines, their reputation is still good so I believe we should see them back OFFICIALLY here by 2017 as well.
