ZenFone AR now official: Augmented Reality to flourish – Hungry Geeks

Augmented reality is the future, imagine dressing up any clothing without buying yet your outfit or even decorate a home with furniture without moving any item. ZenFone AR aims to provide this experience with an ultra-fast processor and whopping 8GB of RAM.

The ZenFone AR is the 2nd augmented reality smartphone, after the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. As compared to the Lenovo Pab 2 Pro, the ZenFone AR has flagship specifications of a Snapdragon 821 processor configured specifically for Google Tango, 8GB of RAM and Google Daydream ready features.

The motion tracking is powered by a fish-eye camera, depth sensing camera and a main 23MP Sony IMX318 camera for accurate photos. It also has laser auto focus, color correction sensor and dual LED flash. Camera module of the ZenFone AR looks similar to the old Nokia Pureview which isn’t good or bad, but more of a remanence.

What’s good with the setup of the ZenFone AR is the strong processing as in our experience with the Phab 2 Pro is the loading of Google Tango applications is slow and requires patience. It even comes with a special vapor cooling system to manage the strong Snapdragon 821 processor.

The ZenFone AR has a 5.7″ 2K SuperAMOLED screen which is great in detal, perfect to bring a great AR experience, especially for Google Daydream usage.

The ZenFone AR is aimed to be available by Q2 2017, hopefully without any delay, this phone will be on-set to be an example for the augmented reality world. Honestly, we don’t expect the phone to be available in the Philippines as we aren’t yet ready for the heavy data requirement of AR and our market isn’t even that exposed to virtual reality.

But if we were to guess the price of the ZenFone AR, it will range from $700 to $900.
