As it waits for Trump, the EU may become reevaluating billion-dollar Big Tech charges.
As Europe awaits Trump, rumor has it that all the pending Union sanctions and decisions against Apple, Google, and Meta have been rendered. This reveals how political its rules are.
Apparently, the EU has halted its investigations into big technical issues like Apple’s App Store regulations.
The European Union has been attempting to control Big Tech for ten years, specifically Margrethe Vestager, the opposition chief. It’s done so mostly very successfully, with the region being the first to implement a Digital Markets Act ( DMA ) that laid out conditions— and especially potential fines for transgressions.
Today according to the Financial Times, but, all of the firm’s plans for charges are on hold. Any of the Big Tech investigations will remain only what is described as complex job, and there will be no charges at the moment.
