New PixelJunk experience, Goals of Another, revealed for PS5 and PS VR2, out 2025
Hello, all! This is Baiyon, Creative Director and media designer at Kyoto-based amateur game theater, Q-Games. I’m thrilled to reveal some interesting information with you on behalf of the team. During State of Play, we publicly announced our latest subject, Dreams of Another! PS5 and PS VR2 will be able to play this most recent installment in the PixelJunk set. It’s also the first sport where I’ve directed all elements including, strategy, story, visuals and of course the music development. I’m excited to show off the activity in our album trailer today and highlight the qualities of this name.
Desires of Another is a third-person exploration-action activity built around the theoretical theme,” no development without destruction”. More than destroying things by shooting—as in conventional shooting matches —here, your shots occur and create the world. This innovative mechanic provides a game encounter that challenges the conventions of the genre and transports players to a whole new level.
As a designer, I’ve long been interested in finding a fresh view on third-person shooting games. Had we develop a game that explores the magnificence of living and development in the midst of destruction? Goals of Another was inspired by this query.
The world of Desires of Another is crafted using cutting-edge place sky systems, creating an ephemeral, artistic labyrinth. Existing in an abstracted position, made up of numerous particles, this visually stunning culture reacts to the team’s actions. By shooting at these contaminants with your weapon, they move and transform, finally materializing into childhoods. Repetitioning this procedure creates new things that you can connect with and interact with.
The Person in Pajamas and The Wandering Soldier, two emotionally charged characters, are the center of the narrative. While the emphasis is on these two heroes, gamers will even connect with conscious things like talking trees and doors, uncovering their thoughts, emotions, and secrets. As you travel through the fantasy world, you will observe the figures ‘ evolving stories and their activities, as well as learning about what they have encountered and what they experience while putting together the puzzles of the world and navigating the transitional space between dreams and reality.
Along with my job as a visual artist, I’ve also spent a lot of time as a singer, playing as a DJ, making unique songs, and working on films and other media. I’ve had the honor of working with several artists in the limitless field of video game over the years. For jobs I lead, I likewise compose the song, adding a special touch to the game experience.
Dreams of Another’s song was expertly crafted to reflect the fleeting and ethereal character of its dream world. By blending noises from all kinds of devices, instruments, non-instrumental sources and industry recordings, I created something really one-of-a-kind for this name. As you discover the show’s world, I hope this experimental music makes sense to the gamers.
Dreams of Another makes the most of PS5 Pro Enhancements, providing very precise point cloud visuals in gorgeous resolution as well as soft animations, letting you totally immerse yourself in the brilliant world.
For PS VR2 players, the game offers an immersive full 360-degree experience of its breathtaking point cloud environments, making it feel as though you’ve stepped right into a dream.
Dreams of Another is set to launch in 2025 for PS5 and PS VR2. If you’re intrigued, be sure to add it to your wishlist! We are eager to share this extraordinary adventure with you.
